Anyone know if Strava can display a real time heart rate?
I'm considering getting the Zephyr heart rate monitor that is compatible with Strava, which I use for tracking my rides. I was wondering if Strava displays heart rate in real time so I could reference it during a workout?
How do you guys check heart rates during rides? Is it worth it or should I just go off my perceived intensity level and keep heart rate info for data to look at later?

I do at least track my HR: the data is interesting later (average for a known route & where I hit max). But I do not train off it: it's too fickle. For instance...
Last year, I did a stage race in Phoenix. First stage was a time trial, I think about 14-miles or so. Out & back. On the way out, I happened to notice that even though my HR said I was at threshold, my perceived exertion told me I had more to give. So I did. I ramped up to where I felt I was at threshold and could sustain for the duration. Then, I rechecked HR: it was about 10-12bpm above my HR threshold!
Turns out, I had a cold and that effected the HR. Sleep the night before can also effect it. And a host of other personal physiology issues could too.
So, it's not a good metric if you want precision.
Also, I don't know if Strava does any data "real-time". They've updated their apps pretty well and I don't know all the changes. They do have some sort of feature that allows you to see segment achievements real time, or some-such. I also don't use it on my phone: use a Garmin (more exact) & upload data later.

I wish I had bought a Garmin sooner a much better solution and lasts a day. I now will import days into Endomondo and strava. Btw you may be better off either getting ant + or Blutooth 4 the new way to do it I have a zepyr that I miss placed whilst decorating and now have a Polar h7 cheaper and sports gym machines same time as phone. Some phones Ios, soon S4 and Note 3 support Ant+ so would give you the option to get a garmin in the future.
