How to fit a stiff and stubborn tire?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I always leave my new tires out in the sun for an hour or so before mounting them. If it's warm enough they will loosen right up and go on w/o any problems. Once you get it on, inflate it, and ride it for a while, it should not be a problem in the future for doing roadside flat repairs.

The dryer works but don't over do it. Soaking in a bucket of hot water helps also. Combine with stretching if all else fails.
