been cruising eBay for a few weeks for a cheap used road bike between 58-61cm...why does it seem like every other &%#$ing bike is a 58cm Allez?

and also you're searching in the $500 and below range. The Allez, when new, is at Specialized's lower price point. If you're looking for Tarmacs or Roubaix, then up your price range.

The Allez is a fine bike, especially given the price. Quit looking at ads and go ride one.

If you look at the left of your search, you have "Specialized" checked as the manufacturer and bikes in the "$0-$500" price range. You also picked certain sizes. So Allez is all that shows up from 58 on up. If you want higher end Specialized, increase the dollar range. If you want other than Specialized, change your manufacturer criteria.

Not sure how tall you are but be sure to go test ride some bikes to get your size right. I say this because I have been looking for a new road bike and test rode just about everything available from all manufacturers. I came to the conclusion that what the bike size says (58,60, 61, etc...) can be quite different between two companies. I'm 6'5 and went out looking for a 60-61cm frame which is about right for me but a few smaller 58-58.5 frames felt good too. I also found Specialized to run a bit taller than everyone else so their 61cm was just too big for me. I might be telling you something you already know but you're shopping on e-bay so there's most likely no returning the bike if it doesn't fit you? I ended up with a 60cm Cannondale, just right. Good Luck with your search!

And OP - the Allez and Secteur is really all Specialized offer at that price point, unless you start looking at hybrid-commuter type bikes.

These are "endurance" bikes, Allez is more of a race geometry bike.
If you were after an endurance bike, you should've looked @ the Sectuar, or Roubaix if that what you were after.
Regardless the OCR is a nice bike!
Enjoy, & post a pic in the Giant thread.
