Correct.

The handle bars have the shifters installed but no cables or tape. The front brake was not installed but the rear was. Both derailleurs and BB are installed.

I worked with the mechanic putting it together. I dropped off my Madone so he can copy the fit over. The Zipp wheels will arrive tomorrow and i'll be picking it up on Monday. It came with both Trek branded cables, housings and misc parts and Sram branded parts... we installed the Sram.

Too bad it 28* outside.

I saved the box so I can ship my old Madone if the buyer is not local.

I was thinking of shortening the cables to get it under 14lbs but decided not to.

I could of cheated like others do and weighed it without the pedals.

The bottle cages and sensor should push it to the 14.20 lbs range.

Now I had my Madone 4.6c there so they could match the fit and it's amazing how much heavier the Madone is at 17.12lbs.

Love them. I bought the Altamont's for my road bike and the stock wheels just sucked as they were very flexy and heavy. Boyd happen to have a pair, I got them and was very glad I did. I have not had break rub since. They are close to 4 lbs total weight (rims, hubs, spoke, tires, tubes) lighter than the stock wheels that came with the bike. I'm runnning Michelin Pro4 Endurance on them now.

I transferred all the drive train parts off a steel frame I was not riding as it was just a tad bit long for me no matter how I tried to make it fit me. So the set up is 105-5700 shifters and crank, Ultegra front and rear delr., TRP Spyre brakes, Lizard Skin 2.5 bar tape, Specialize carbon seat post and Time ATAC S ROC pedals. Stock weight was around 31 pounds with rack, but after all the changes sits at 22 with rack now.

Thanks for your thoughts on the wheels. I need a new set and like to hear from guys first hand. I'm kinda leaning towards Race X Lite wheels right now. 22 pounds is pretty light for that set up.

Am the happy owner of a pair of Domanes, a 2013 5.2 and a 2014 2.3. Just got the 2.3 and am a bit puzzled about why seatpost isn't carbon like the 2013. A carbon seatpost certainly affords for more flex -- and comfort -- of seat tube/seatpost system. Other than economics, can't imagine why Trek would do this. I changed to a cf seatpost and am experiencing improved comfort. The only argument I can think of for Trek is that the 2.3 with a cf seatpost would be too close to domane 4 series in ride and handling.

This was my newest Trek, a 1996 1220, sold it on Friday. It just hung on the wall and I needed the money for a LeMond project. It's a great bike and the buyer was excited to get it!

Had the same question on my seat post on my carbon Synapse, came with an AL seatpost and the Aluminum frame was shipping with a Carbon post. Just waiting for them to be in stock in Feb and I am swapping it out.

I love your new bike!!!!! Looks perfect! Clearly you and I have similar tastes in bikes as I have a 4.6 now. I was able to get my 4.6 just under 17lb so the weight of that Emonda is impressive! I love the color scheme especially with the SRAM Red. Like you mentioned, too bad the weather sucks!!!!!

Not sure how you did that. My Madone 4.6c was 17.12lbs fresh out of the box with no pedals or bottle cages. If you add pedals and 2 cages it will be closer to 17.5lbs. I upgraded my saddle with a Bontrager Paradigm RL saddle and Easton EC90SL wheels and that would bring the weight down to around 17.20.

Well, I can say this, it is possible my scale or weight weighing techniques may have been a little off, but my 4.6 had Rival brakes instead of Apex, the newer style 2013+ Bontrager Race Lite Wheels, and Bontrager R3 tires. So the tire and wheels are much lighter than stock. My saddle is a Selle SMP Drakon. My weight was a smidge under 17 and that was with my Topeak ridecase, and a small storage pouch under my seat, and the Bontrager node computer. My pedals are Shimano Carbon 105's, 280 grams I believe.

All that matters is you enjoy riding it. 16.9 vs 17.1 doesn't matter.

Only reason I upgraded is my last child got his masters and suddenly I have spare cash and deserved something totally frivolous.

Yeah, you are right about that! All that matters is that you ride it like its hot! I am anxious to hear how you like the new ride compared to the 4.6. I too am considering bumping up to the 7 series frame. Please keep me posted as I know you seem to provide useful and practical information. Thanks and hope for some good riding weather soon!

Bike looks great!! I'm wondering what made such a big weight savings on the SLR 10? I thought the Shram was the weight savings?? Your wheels can't be 3.5 lbs heavier than the Bontragger's on the SLR10? Did you ask shop guys about that? Nothing wrong with 14 in any ways, I was thinking yours would come in 1.5 to 2 lighter than mine. With Look pedals, DA Di2, xxxl cages, C35's, Toupe Pro saddle, mine came in at 14.40. Either way I'm going from 17.3 lb Domane similar to you so it is big difference on the road. Enjoy.
