Best choice for first pair of clipless pedals?

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Another 105 user...love them. Like others have said, get a good fitting part of shoes. They are worth it.

I'm sure the ones on ebay for $55 are legit.

If you don't mind silver, here's a set for $52 (spend another $100 and get 10% off your order):

In my quick search, I also found that they make 105-C's in carbon now for around $130. Wonder what the weight difference is between those and my dura ace pedals?

Have used them for 5 years. Just purchased a new set to put on my old bike. Shop sold them to me at Nashbar price (since I purchased a new bike) of $53. As an FYI that is approximately dealer cost to purchase from Shimano.

Probably legit, but you can often find them for that much from reputable online retailers, too.

Shimano now makes a cleat cover that fits better than Kool Kovers. Amazon has them I just got a pair

Also, I decided to buy the serfas intervals since they were cheap enough that it wouldn't be too much of a hassle if they didn't fit (which they did, perfectly). My pedals and shoes got here this week and I just tried them out today. The pedals are great, and I learned how to clip in instantly and rode around the block a few times. I can't wait to use them on a ride!
