Not sure if this is the right place for this thread or if anyone cares, but REI has Honey Stinger Waffles on sale for .69 each w/free shipping. It's the "Performance Food of the Month" so I assume it runs through December, but not 100% sure on that.

I tried these, but could not figure out how to carry or eat them on the bike. I like the taste, but the shape is really weird. If I put a pack in my jersey pocket, it crumbles before I can eat it. How do you folks carry these?

I've never havd one crumble in my pockets before. I can eat them on the bike but it usually requires me to have to use my teeth to tear it open. I usually just eat one at a rest stop or if I get hungry I will eat one real quick while waiting for a red light to change. Could it be that you got a batch that was expired or close to it?

mine always crumbled too. I just went over to amazon prime subscribe and save... put me in at about 1.25 for honey stingers chews.

I get the mini stroopwafels from Trader Joe's. Cheaper, easier to eat on the bike because of the bite size, and I don't have Lance's face on my food. The only downside is that sometimes when I go to put some in my ziplock Bag before a ride, I find that the rest of my family has helped me get rid of them.

Thanks for pointing that out. I had just ordered some georgies from Musette bakery for my rides, but could not pass up some honey stinger stuff to mix it up on even longer rides. I grabbed 25 vanilla waffles and even some gels, Cheapest i ever bought them for, i hope that they have good expiration dates and they are not some stocked up supply that goes bad next month

Note that they do go stale even before their "best by" date. The good, they still taste edible even when stale.

Never had one crumble in my pocket either, any distance. But... I stopped eating on the bike for the most part so no need, but that is a good deal.

you guys should seriously try the trader joes mini stroopwafels. The small size keeps them whole instead of crumbling, but they're also more syrupy than the honey stingers, so the filling is more glue-like because of caramel. They don't crumble nearly as easily for those two reasons.

I walked to my local REI and picked up 15. I think I'll go back next week and get some more if they're still on sale. I'll have to try the Trader Joe's version too but for cycling I do like snacks that are already wrapped in convenient serving sizes.
