Cycleops fluid 2 warranty replacement unit

    Hi all,

I pulled out my dad's old cycleops fluid MK1 trainer and found a puddle of oil underneath and unsurprisingly, no resistance. Evidently this is common with the older versions, so I called up the customer service for cycleops, the rep told me that they did not stock parts for my specific trainer anymore (and my frame is incompatible with the current resistance unit) but they could offer a brand new fluid 2 for $180 shipped along with the lifetime warranty. Should I take them up on this offer?

considering the trainer wasn't even yours in the first place and theyre giving you the trainer for a good price, i dont know why is this even a question.

It's a pretty solid price for a new unit, that's for sure, probably a little less than most dealer's cost

I would compare it to the comparably priced Nashbar unit and decide between them. Nashbar trainers are seriously good for the money.

I'd like to have gotten my Fluid 2 for $180!

Sounds like you've been given a nice offer from CycleOps. If you want a fluid-based trainer, I think the CycleOps trainers are a great choice. I've been using mine for about 4 years now and haven't had any problems.

I say go for it. Mine cost more than that on Black Friday. It's even a better deal if you put it to good use.

I thought I got a good deal replacing my resistance head (wind) with a fluid2 for $99, but all said this is $50 cheaper than my investment.
