Your Last Ride of 2013

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Your Last Ride of 2013

Tell us about your Last Ride of 2013 ...

Tuesday 31 December -- 16.5 km exploring and checking out potential "after work" routes. Plus a workout mid-ride at the local outdoor fitness equipment. It was a decent day out there, with a bit of wind.

I am going to ride 15 miles today and will stop at 6600 for the year. That's 1700 less than last year but more than I thought I would ride, my priorities changed a little, I don't force myself to ride just to get mileage. I ride because I enjoy it.

Just finished an easy 24 mile ride. Finishing the year at just over 4700. First year of cycling.

You guys are way farther along than I am. It's currently 10 outside and has been unseasonably cold for the past month or so...so no outside riding for me. I draw the line at 32 and it has been well below that for weeks now.

I wrapped up my 2013 with a 15mi Sufferfest session in my basement last night, I'm off tonight. 1700 miles on the year...but truth be told, thanks to a surgery early this year, I was off the bike until late June. So...late June-Oct was honestly my main riding season, I can live with that.

I rode to work today...quiet, still, gray morning, very cold (22°F), went super-slow just taking it easy. About 9.5 miles.

Oh, wait, I'll have to ride home from work this afternoon too; that will be my last ride of 2013!

By "decent day" I mean that it was sunny and +20C today.

Today I'll say goodbye to the year with a painful but grateful 1.5hr base interval session. Close the year with pretty strong results and in the best shape of my life. Happy new years to everybody

Haven't decided yet, but it's absolutely beautiful here today. Sun, no wind, 70F.

Maybe 40 miles at tempo around Griffith park. I'll definitely avoid the Rose Bowl route today!

My last outdoor ride of 2013 was back in October. It was a nice 40+ mile ride that included a climb I had wanted to try. Next year I'll do the same ride and tack on another 15-20 miles that include two more good climbs.

44 miles on the 29th. I had planned to ride today, but I finally caught my son's cold. I'm amazed I lasted this long considering the number of times he sneezed and coughed on me...got to love 5 year olds.

I appreciate it, but that didn't work for me.
I had to do this:

For Microsoft Windows XP, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Character Map.

Yes, XP.

Oh, good to know, thanks. Now why didn't I already know that? Oh, yeah because it is so obvious...

My last ride of the year was Saturday. 20 or so mile shop ride. Not sure what my mileage was for the year. Guess I should check. I do know for a fact that regardless of what it was, I want to do more next year.
