Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

39 degrees here, before the wind and cold front got here. Literally got back from 40 miles 2 minutes before the 40-50mph winds did. Dropped 10 degrees an hour later.

...the evening news said something about a wind chill of 43 below zero Fahrenheit in Minneapolis/St Paul.

I think the worst I ever lived through when I lived there was 20 below (no wind chill added). So my hat
is off to you poor ****ers, because I think i would have just quietly died in a winter like this one up there.

Here, we continue to have no rain, much warmer than average temps, and a general anxiety about the
coming summer, when the entire Western United States threatens to become one large burning inferno.

we're supposed to get to -20° tonight. that's before windchill. propane shortage has some people worried.

my friends in charlotte are laughing about everything shutting down and people freaking out again about 1-2" of snow.

For riding alone, standard sunglasses would probably be ok. But last year, on the fast ride I had a couple of incidents where clear vision would have helped. To fast too close together.

It's a nice sunny day with hardly a cloud in the sky here.

What I hate most about this weather is my crappy little dog is afraid her little doggy bits will get cold if she goes outside so she takes a dump on my rug and it really chaps my hide.

I just hopped on weather.com and it told me it's 9 degrees in Malvern and 64 degrees in Taipei.

I am in the wrong place.

I was looking forward to winter but we got none. Now I am dreading summer. It could be a scorcher.
