Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

And it feels so much better when I stop. Course, I've ridden in that type environment, and though doable, it's not fun.

Plenty of tri geeks can handle bikes. Those are the ones I run past at the end of the race. I just can't bicycle.

Getting better though. Able to spend way more time in aero than I used to, even with wind. In summer I should be much better.

Bike handling is more than unloading and loading it from the car without dropping it.

My point exactly. For me it stops being fun at 50. Other people's mileage varies, obviously.

I don't need the bike to stay in shape, for me I'll find other, less aversive ways to stay in shape. Eff that suffering on a bike bs!

28°F is when paranoia passes fun for me. At that temp, every wet patch could be ice, and I start fearing ass over teacup episodes.

Just got done running on the treadmill, an I have now run more miles than I have ridden this year. 26 on foot, 25.2 wheeled. Sad.

It's not bigotry. It is the absolute truth. Only idiots run for fun. running is only allowed when your other option is death. Now go practice your bike riding skills.

Luckily, I'm a squirt gun that shoots jelly, and trapped in a whole different movie.

I think that was this year, and clearly shows that running is

Dumb.

TS, my youngest mentioned you when I took the sock monkey ornament off the tree this year. Not you by name, but he asked about the sock monkey on rollers video, and wondered if it was on YouTube.

Not riding under 50 is pretty wussy-like, though.

I'm still rockin' C&V weightweenieing equipment here. Just got rid of 154 grams on the KHS by swapping out the ol' Kalloy Uno for this Race Face Revolution. Initial impression is that this is the best seatpost head design ever. Independent tilt and fore/aft, with the same size wrench and very easy to access.
