Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I'm just waiting for a team mate to scrounge up some cash and buy my 404s so I can get a set of Rails.
I agree, Herbie. Better or not, soon the Wheelhouse will be long in the tooth, so I may as well go with the good guys. The pre buy deal is their model, and if they can make the group buy type situation work for them, more power to them. It's that business sense that got them to the point where they could do the Rail, so something is working. Course, Mrs. LAJ gets it. When I mentioned what the savings would be by buying now, I got "the look", so that made that decision even easier.

I just built a bike where the weight of every part was considered.

We can't all ride a steel bike with a new fangled carbon fork.

Some group from California is trying to put a mandatory pre marriage counseling bill on the ballot here. I really think think the people from that state need to watch their own plate, as Dad used to say.

One of the pluses of NY is that there is zero chance of carpet baggers moving in and swaying politics. That would require 1. Population growth and 2. Transparent politics.

FWIW I remain oddly flexible for my age... got pretty much nothing else useful for cycling genetically, but I can touch my palms to the floor.

Herbie, is that a 0 setback post, and may I ask the STA. I always use a setback post, and it seems like I shouldn't need to. At 6'3", I have short legs for my height, which seems like it should pull the seat forward. Granted, 2 of my 3 frames have 74° STA's.

Yeah rght! Useless waste of time that pre-marriage counseling. I done been married (and divorced) 4 times and the 2 times there was pre-marriage counseling were the worst of the bunch...by quite a wide margin...

Moral of the story...no amount of pre-marriage counseling can alleviate the problem of a broken picker...

Yes, 0 setback Thompson and the frame is Guru Flite that has a seat tube angle of 73. I do have the seat railed back (a bit of set back would work ok).

What works best for you depends mostly on how long your femurs are.
