Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Before Payton, I wanted a Decoy. Then big crazy 16 week old Payton came charging at me and my search was over.

I'm pretty sure it'll be the Habanero. I'll start putting it together in the next few months, so It will be ready for Spring.

You should ask if they can grind them smooth for you.

I did buy a new set of red shifters for the backip bike. Dieting and training will begin soon enough.

i've managed to lose a total of around 15 pounds since the stupid running started. still in sort of a plateau, first 10 came off quick and now it's much slower. i'd be happy with just 5 more but eventual goal is another 15 for 30 total.

i weigh about the same now as i did in 8th grade.

I have zero trainer miles this year, and only one road ride in. This weekend should allow me to triple my current mileage. I have taken my failure to gain credit authorization for a geared rain bike as a sign to abandon gears. As such, I have embraced the following plan:

1. Purchase trainer compatible axle nuts for SS. They arrived today.
2. Drop daily calories to 1600-1700. Since 12/29/13, I have missed once.
3. Run 4-5 miles daily for month of January. So far, I have hit daily mileage all days but 2, but ran everyday.
4. Shed 22 lbs via 2. & 3. May take all winter.
5. On Feb 1, begin trainer use on SS, with easier 47x18 gearing, focusing only on raising cadence from 92ish average to 110ish average.

So, I figure if I do that, I'll hit the ground rolling in mid-March, when group rides begin again.

But you do have a job. You're learning to do leather sewing and the logos, etc, right? There ya go.

My wife has returned from the Amazon. For the past two hours, she has been pleasant, and affectionate, and excited to be home.

I don't think it is her.
