What's this frame worth? What penalties for "damage"?

As I wrote in another thread recently, I am going back and forth regarding a new frame I spotted on ebay. I am mostly negative about buying it, but am interested in what my current Giant TCR Advanced (2009) medium frame would be worth. It has only about 10k miles on it, but I am not the easiest of cyclists on my bikes. There is the usual chain damage, etc. In addition there is the very tiny "crack?" shown in the photo below just in front of the seat post clamp. Just noticed it the other day. Also there are photos of the cable wear on the frame surface and the degradation of the head tube badge. Any thoughts on value? The new MSRP was about $2,900. Frame, fork, headset only.

    Any ideas of value?

Giants have lifetime warranty and that crack does not look like impact damage so odds are they will warranty it. I would try that route as you might get a newer TCR Advanced frame out of it.

No cigar. Frame was bought off ebay from a non-authorized dealer for about 1/3 the original price. I can't be upset as I am still way ahead. Just wondering what someone else would pay for it as is. Thanks.

Go to your local giant dealer that you have a good relationship with and see what they can do.

Thanks to you guys for the advice about how to get my frame fixed for free, but please understand that is not what I am trying to do. If I keep this frame, I don't care about having it fixed. What I want to know is how much is it worth as is. The whole point of this exercise is to move up from TCR Advanced to TCR Advanced SL ISP. If Giant were to replace the frame, it would be with the same model, not the one I want. Of course, I could then sell the new unwanted frame to help pay for the one I want, but I have gone around and around with Giant dealers in the past. No proof of purchase from an authorized dealer, no warranty. If I can't sell the old frame as is, I just won't bother. I am really fine continuing as I am. Just trying to get an idea of the value as is.

But if you get a brand new (better) warranty frame you can either A) sell it or B) keep it and swap your components over. A cracked frame isn't worth a whole lot so if you plan to disclose that to a seller I'd have a local Giant shop take a look at it to determine if it's superficial or something to be concerned about.

Okay, I get it. From experience I know that Giant will not replace under warranty a frame that is not, but I understand that is the best answer I am going to get. Thanks to all.

Assuming Craigslist or eBay, with that crack, $300 at most. Probably much less.

I'm trying to sell a 2012 Trek Madone 6.2 frame with a lot of paint damage and no cracks. I doubt I'll be able to get even $300 for it.

Used carbon frames lose so much value.

Ouch, triple wammie. Giants don't resell as well as some brands, used carbon doesn't sell well, 10k with some damage isn't likely to sell well...

I think that frame is worth far more to you than anyone else would pay for it.

Yeah, you pretty much have hit the nail on the head, I think. I had already decided to keep it and ride it, but the one I saw on ebay is so good looking and upwards of a half pound lighter, I just keep wondering if I am making the right choice. Answers I am getting here suggest that is so. Thanks.

List it for a price where your not losing cash, set what king of interst it gathers,if it gets low ball offers, you can always keep it as a beater/rain bike.
