2011 Specialized Tarmac S-Work Deal

Hi,

I'm a noob to road biking and I'm in the market for a road bike. I'm looking to get a Tarmac or a Tarmac S-Works and found a 2011 Tarmac S-Works for $2200, which is kind of cheap for a S-Works. Can someone who knows more about road bike tell me if this is a good deal or not? It's the following model:

Thanks!

New or used? What wheels are being included with the bike?

this is a used bike and it has the same wheels as the ones from the link.

Considering that a new 2014 S-works with dura ace would cost you roughly $8,500, I'd have to say wow - that's quite a reduction in price.

Does it fit you?
Is it in good shape?
Ever crashed it?

Obviously there's no warranty from Specialized for a frame you didn't buy.

Who knows, that's the fun of buying used... a new DA group all by itself would run you about 2 grand as it is.

according to the seller, it has never been crashed. based on the pictures, everything looks pretty good. I just talked to the seller and have scheduled to come look at it but I wanted to get an opinion from a non bias expert first. Are there anything in particular that I should look for when going to see this bike? Thanks!

That's a great price for a 2011 S-works with carbon wheels. Go check it out in person.

My suggestion if you buy it is to replace the cables with Dura Ace 9000 or Ultegra 6800 cables. Dura Ace 7900 doesn't have the greatest reputation for shift quality and the newer cables will help since they have less friction.

It's an SL3, they've updated the frame since then thus lowering resale value but I'd say that's a smoking price. If it checks out I'm sure you'll love it.
