Cycling advocate, 10-wheels, involved a 1-person cycling accident

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Get better Fred
^^ this ^^

Sounds like he really got his bell rung. I wasn't kidding about spending the next week(s) in a dark room with his eyes closed. A damaged brain is fertile grounds for mayhem- think seizures induced by flashing lights as an extreme example, but it does scale down from there.

He's likely to have a whole barge of wacky emotional stuff coming at him once he gets past the acute stage of this. My anxiety baseline was off the charts for months. I'd jump out of my skin at the smallest thing... fear... depression... for me the strangest thing was this feeling of deep, very sad, despair, like I'd lost a child. This for many months. It was so incongruous that I could at least recognize it as an obvious symptom and somewhat ignore it. Later, as it faded, it kind of blended in with the depression. Good times, lol.

Glad that Fred is at home and I'll back up the following of the guidelines to totally allow his brain to rest and heal, completely. Nothing here that won't keep, as said so aptly above! Daddy, thank you for your update and for keeping us posted as to how Fred is doing, it is greatly appreciated.

Fred and Tom, you guys take things easy and get well, as Tom said, we don't need anymore of the staff, or members, either, in hospital or injured/sick. Prayers for both of you will continue.

Bill

Speedy recovery Fred, get well soon.

Now you have even more time to spend with the forum while you're laying around.

the sooner 10 wheels heals up, the sooner we can get back to yanking his chain.

when he first introduced himself to me as Fred I thought it was a joke as I had been hanging around the 41 and saw how often the term is used. I actually sent him a PM to ask if his name was really Fred. Not at all an uncommon name, but now every time I talk to someone named Fred (including my uncle) I feel like I'm 41'ing
