Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I feel your pain. Last winter in Colorado was pretty icy for about that period of time. Recent job loss has me moving back to California where all of those miles will be made up >:-) Great work though!

Passed by mile marker 6000 on Saturday in Pompano Beach. I wondered where I would find it, but there it was on a route I routinely ride, funny, I never saw it there before. Last year the last mile marker I saw was 4301. I wonder if I can find mile marker 7000 next year? Happy Festivus everyone!

I'm 79 miles short of 8,000 miles for the year and the weather is looking pretty poor. I may have to do a zillion laps of the neighborhood so I can stop off and warm up and change in to dry clothes every half hour.

1670 for me since I started road biking the last week of September. Going for 1800, fingers crossed the weather stays decent.

Its cold but clear here in the bay, just finishing up at 3300 miles since April 2014. Layer up and pedal away!

470 miles on my road bike since I picked it up in September. I can only ride weekends but this hopefully might change for 2015.

I rode 30 miles yesterday, 15 with my friend who was riding for the first time since a near fatal Oct.22 heart attack. Need 5 miles today for a yearly total of 7,400. No trainer miles.
I rode 324 days, travel and weather 41 days, no ride, average 22.8 daily.

9161 miles as of today. Planing on getting a final 25 or so tomorrow. I had to cut it back the past couple of months while I deal with a couple of health issues.

I'm 62 miles short of 7,000 for the year. Planning on a solo ride this afternoon and might get in the 62 if I'm feeling in the mood.

7175.4 miles for the year. 1 solo double century and way, way too many rides between 100 and 150 miles to count. It was a good year, can't wait to see what I can do next year!

Bought my first bike ever last December, rode 1850 miles.

Things I learned:
1. Flats happen
2. Rule #64
3. Most thoughts start with "well my road bike"
4. Bike parts are cheaper than car parts
5. Bike parts are more expensive than all other parts
6. Not cycling causes withdrawal and the shakes indicating a physical dependency
7. Riding 100 miles at will does not mean you can run 3 miles.
8. This is my bicycle. There are many like it, but this one is mine. My bicycle is my best friend. It is my life. I must master it as I must master my life. My bicycle without me, is useless. Without my bicycle, I am useless.
