Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Help choosing bicycle to buy on ebay!

Which is the best bicycle to buy? or if someone is selling a better one for 1k or below, let me know.. hah

Anyways, here are a few bikes I am looking at:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/111283308434...84.m1426.l2649

or

https://www.ebay.com/itm/201040664110...M2229.R13.TR19

I will end up spending 1k-1.1k if I win any of this.

These are the bikes that I could save up to 200-300. I won the Orbea Aqua road bike, you'll see it linked below:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/301100042738...84.m1439.l2648

or

https://www.ebay.com/itm/161233973002....M1414.R5.TR18
(if it falls under 900 )

I actually won the Orbea one for 760$ on ebay. It is 56cm and I am 6'1 and a half.. not sure if I should just go with 58cm :| The reason why I want to buy off ebay is cause used bikes have very good components.

Personally, i would never buy a bike that i couldn't test ride first. I am 5'10" and ride a 55-56cm frame, so I think you probably need a 58cm or 59cm frame anyway. New bikes have very good components too, plus you get some after sales support from the shop where you make your purchase. Saving money on the wrong bike isn't the wise move.

If you 'won' the Orbea, what is there to talk about? You should pay and see if you can make it work when it arrives.

The GURU RL CARBON ROAD BIKE LARGE is really beautiful and has good components. The problem is that size.. but he said that he is 6'0 with plenty of room so maybe it could fit me?

the BH Carbon Connect is 59cm Shimano Dura Ace 9 is 59cm, maybe a good size for me and this bike is also beautiful! I don't think I can get a beautiful bike at local store for 800-1k =\

If I don't win those items, then I will go for orbea and see if I can make it work. The shimano 105 components on that bike looks new.

What am I missing here? You won the auction; pay for the bike and make it work.

Lol , but I am looking at the GURU RL CARBON ROAD BIKE LARGE because it looks hot and it has good components as well or the BH Carbon Connect is 59cm Shimano Dura Ace 9.
I am not certain if it worth it , to pay 150-200$ extra for any of this bike if I "win"

I'm with you….. if you bid on ANY auction you should be in a position to purchase if you are the highest bidder. It appears that LovestoBike is indeed the highest bidder. So is he saying that he is not planning on following up with his commitment to complete the purchase?

Looks like he won the Orbea auction and is the high bidder for the Guru. Ain't that ****ed up! @LovesToBike, how old are you 13?

I'm 27 and well-educated puerto rican who goes to UMass Lowell pursuing in Nutritional science degree.

Sorry, I know that wasn't nice, but I am concerned about the size of the orbea.

Wait, you won the auction for the Orbea, but you may want another bike instead?

Yes, because of the size. I am concerned that 56cm would run small to me. So I am keeping an eye on this bike https://www.ebay.com/itm/201040664110...84.m1426.l2648 because it is 59cm.

I am going to cancel the bid, but first, I want to know which one would be a great buy for me? That's the reason I am posting here.

The good news is that if he wins the Guru, he'll be stiffing a seller that only has an 85% feedback rating.

Right. I might cancel that bid because of the size.

That would be one major downside of ebay purchasing. You need to be educated about your sizing needs.

There's that, and the fact that I wouldn't even think of bidding on anything offered by a seller with 85% positive feedback.

No need to be sorry. Do the eBay community a favor and pay for the Orbea. What you're doing sucks ass. Because of people like you eBay is not what it used to be. Again, man up pay for the bike and make it work. Come back here if you have fitting issues and I'm sure plenty people will help.

I requested a cancellation for the Guru bike since it is 56cm and he has 85% feedback.

You're right.. but sometimes people bid and then change their mind. It is possible to cancel bids.

Oh gosh. Well, you're right. I may purchase this one and if it is not a good fit ,I will sell it on craiglist...
I will only pay 760$ rather than 1.1k.. I could save money if this one is a good fit.
