Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Sad to see Devin Hester go. But as you age, you get slower. Ask Brian Urlacher.

Just remember to not gnaw on the trees and you'll be all set.

Cottonwood and several other trees, most grasses, cats, dogs, and mold. So that covers most of the year outside and inside. Oh, and anaphylaxis level allergic to aspirin and any NSAID other than Tylenol. That means no ibuprofen or Excedrin but it also means no Pepto Bismal and no Kaopectate either. Whee!

Thanks Billy. I keep liking it more and more. Looks like I get to stretch its legs on Sunday, as we'll be up in the 60's finally.

so have you jazzed it up with some colour yet?

for my own bike, I'm thinking of getting that cheapo cotton handle bar ribbon in red and wrapping it over my yellow tape. This way I can get the bars in co-ordination with my red tyres that just won't wear out.

i like the look of that cervelo. very nicely styled. but more colour please.

for an example of a well decorated bike, check out herbie's guru. near enough to perfection. mine is a bit too flamboyant which won't work for most sensible people.

Color is nice, but it's too easy to end up with something that clashes with your kit. Eventually I am going to get moved to Texas for my job and will likely join a new team down there. The blue Guru may end up clashing, the black one will be fine.

I am a velofashionista.

How is this road cycling related any more than the watch, or car, or hiking threads?

It is posted by owners of road bikes? Where is the addiction thread about roadies with herding dogs?

Back in the day this issue came up related to this thread, and the RTT in the racing forum. The request was made by several folks, myself included, for us to have a place where members of a given forum could post random things with the people they primarily interacted with. The request was, somewhat begrudgingly, allowed. That said, our ability to maintain threads like addiction or the RTT is an exception to the rule. If one wants to post about hiking here, have at it. But the alternate is that we lose threads like this, which provide an outlet that was requested and could certainly hold all the posts that are lost in a watch or car thread.
