Did you pick a frame, Mr. @rjones28? You were thinking Habanero whenst last I checked.
Parts on order for first wheel build attempt with LBS tutelage. I have a 36 hole Duraace front hub ($10 from LBS), 36 hole Surly fixed rear hub, and SunRingle CR18 rims in silver. Figured I would make a touring wheelset for the SS "round the state" ride before going complicated. LBS strongly pushed straight gage spokes, so I went along. I figured build first wheelset with cheapest parts possible so as to not roach too much valuable.
No ride outside today. Low teens when I woke up till an hour before the scheduled ride time. with a .5 "of snow. Eff that action. I elected instead to do another "hour" on the debil...errrr, trainer. Once again setting my sights on the magical 60 min. goal, and fell 14 seconds short. Oh the humanity.
Looks like I have lost 5 lbs so far. 225 this am.

This is literally where I am right now in a perfect state of contentment. I even have free wifi on the beach. And that young man on the Segway- what a nice fellow. He brings me whatever I want. Can I have green salad with my sandwich instead of fries? Of course. When is happy hour? Right now. Seriously I am a little blissed out at this moment.
Up front I was not interested in the Duraace hub when they offered, as 36 spokes isn't sexy. But they are convinced I am going to taco my first build, and they are being super helpful. So I figure I will plop some cash with them and have a durable back up wheel set before I build my dream wheelset. Of course, I am already planning it.
It's below zero and snowing today. The next time someone says "it's too cold to snow", slap him upside his silly head.
Telemachus has, indeed, sneezed.
I am familiar with "Too cold to salt" but not "Too cold to snow". Never heard it.
didn't the owner of the segway company ride one over a cliff and died? be careful.
coasting, few quotes are worthy of him, and of those, even fewer printable in a family forum......quote 3alarmer
