Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

You're confused, dude. Blame Rowan for that, not me. I actually took part in several pillow fights post-puberty but I stopped after one chick took it too seriously and nearly broke my nose.

I'd be leaning towards a jacket or blazer worn over a branded T-shirt and jeans.

BTW, does anyone else think it's funny- not necessarily in the humorous sense- that a Walmart apparel site sells shirts that say "Management" on them? Not "Manager", which makes a certain sort of sense to me, but "Management". LoP says I'm coming at this from a weird angle but my first thought on seeing these was "So are there also shirts that say 'Labor' or 'Worker' or something like that?" (For the record, I don't come from a Union background at all and my daughter the Sociology major also thought I was weird.)

i have a lot of cardigans. given that i was freezing all day as the service desk is next to the not very insulated service and storage area, i think i'll be wearing a lot of sweaters, and i understand why everyone wears hoodies. tomorrow i'll wear the one brand appropriate t-shirt i already owned, a cardigan, and a scarf... and maybe fingerless gloves.

first day was kind of rough. my boss and the other guys are great, but there's a lot to learn and it was a little overwhelming. also had to take my first drug test ever, which was fun. my urge to jump in and do things was always overtaken by my not wanting to mess something up, so there were a few missed opportunities.

my friend's bakery will be open tomorrow (closed mondays) that's on the way to the shop, so i'm hoping to bribe some goodwill with pastries.

the "management" label doesn't seem too weird to me. just sort of a generic indicator that you're above the plebs.

Ah, the drug test. I've taken two so far with the second one being last week. I've come to the conclusion there should be two waiting rooms: One for the people who are having a hard time peeing- "shy bladder", I believe it's called- and are therefore consuming great quantities of water and those who are primed and ready to go and thanking God they got a hard wooden chair. This is because when the latter are seated next to the former, homicide is a very real possibility about the third time water hisses from the cooler/dispenser into a paper cup.
