Road Cycling ďIt is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.Ē -- Ernest Hemingway

Writing songs again. Feeling better all the time. My Dad would have wanted that more than anything else. Of that I am completely certain. I miss him. But he's right here. He's right here with me.

Promises to Keep

The morning sun low on the horizon
Told me it was time for me to go
It made it that much harder to be risin
The sadder thought that somehow you would know

I kinda felt like maybe I should stay here
That I owed to you now that you are gone
But I knew that it was time to let you go now
I knew that it was time to move along

Just because I stopped my weeping
That donít mean that I donít cry myself to sleep
Itís only that I know I must be leaving
And I know I still have promises to keep

I feel like Iíve been grieving such a long time
My life it seems like now itís filled with ghosts
You werenít just the only one I lost now
But losin you well thatís what hurt the most

Just because I stopped my weeping
That donít mean that I donít cry myself to sleep
Itís only that I know I must be leaving
And I know I still have promises to keep

In the sober light of morning
I know youíd want me just to be ok
Thereís the bigger part of you that is inside me
And maybe I can carry on that way

Just because I stopped my weeping
That donít mean that I donít cry myself to sleep
Itís only that I know I must be leaving
And I know I still have promises to keep
I know I still have promises to keep
I know I still have promises to keep

i have always liked dogs and dogs like me. i just don't have the capacity to commit to a long term pet. i think i am a better dog lover than a lt of people who have dogs but shouldn't in inappropriate accommodation.

Good for you. So many people get dogs without considering the long term implications. It's sad for the dog.

After both dogs died, the reaction was to replace that loss. But it made no sense at the time. Despite her protests, I haven't allowed us to go the Humane Society because I know my wife, and I know what will happen.

A Colder Spring

Will you help me come around
Can you hear that distant sound
Can I get back to the light
If you help me then I might

I’ve been in a darker place
I’ve been in a haunted space
You’ve been watching on the side
But you hung on for the ride

Hope is trying to take wing
It’s a bright and colder spring

I’ve been in a foreign land
It was harder than I planned
You were there to hold me near
You’re the reason I’m still here

Hope is trying to take wing
It’s a bright and colder spring

When you finally break on through
It was waiting there for you
You recover from the pain
But it’s never quite the same

Will you help me come around
Can you hear that distant sound
Can you get me through the night
If you’re with me I just might

Hope is trying to take wing
It’s a bright and colder spring
