Addiction XXXIII

Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

She is a miniature wire-haired dachshund. This type of spinal surgery in dogs has about a 90% success rate, it doesn't matter if the dog is paralyzed just whether they still have feeling in their toes and how soon you perform the surgery. It's a way better prognosis than the type of disc problems people get. Its actually a very routine surgery and one that is pretty straightforward to learn.

Yes, there are all kinds of specialists for animals. If you ever need one, we are here. I am however useless at most of the things you need a vet for. I'm very fuzzy for example as to what to do to get rid of fleas.

Machka participates in the Women's Forum. It is not as some male posters imagine.

Pillow fights? Really? I have to say I do not know any real women of an age beyond puberty who have been involved in pillow fights. Or mud wrestling.

I can't remember the last time I saw baby doll pajamas. I don't think even old F of H carries them now. There was a brief attempt to revive the Courtney Love fueled trend called "kinderwh*re" last year but I believe that also has fallen by the wayside.

...as a guy, I never could figure out baby doll pj's ? They could not possibly keep you warm and
seemed like they would have a tendency to ride up as you sleep. They made no sense from a
functional standpoint. Yet, if you perused the pages of Playboy, it seemed as if they were ubiquitous.

I blame the patriarchy..................flannel or birthday suit is how we roll at my house.

Nah, I believe you.

Ok, so who do I get the secret handshake from? Any moderator? And how do they know that I am in fact a woman and not a lying curious male?

I don't know, though. It seems to me that if there are inappropriate comments made on any thread, the best way to handle that is to either peer pressure it or moderate it away. Thats what would happen for example in real life in a civilized situation. Man behaves dickishly towards a woman. someone shuts him up (preferably the woman herself but possibly over-hearing males), conversation goes on. Instead of man behaves dickishly, woman to whom he behaved dickishly is told to take herself and any women she wanted to talk to the ladies room to continue their conversation.

But whatever, it's not my forum. And now my curiosity is piqued. But in general I don't thnk treating women cyclists as if they are something substantially different than male cyclists is a good idea. We're all just cyclists IMO. Sure with differing interests, agendas, physiologies, etc. But fundamentally just cyclists.
