...I write and run the CL ads for the better bikes people give us at the co-op.
I could not continue to do so without a considerable sense of humor and a more laid
back, California ethos than you are exhibiting here. Craig and his list are us, with all that
idea entails. Of course it's a huge cluster****. It's free, for ****'s sake.
I used to react much like you back in my days as a CL rookie. Now, I just smile and move on.
You ought to actually post an ad to sell something, just for the experience. It will immediately
generate fifteen inquiries of a generic nature like, "Is it still for sale ? Please reply." from guys
collecting e-mail addresses, hoping you will be stupid enough to respond using yours.
I admit that I absolutely CL, because it is the American entrepreneurial circus writ large across the innerweebz.

(Yes , I know its late.) I have sold many things on craigslist, but I do it in a strange way. I post a picture of the item with a description. That, has a price after it. When someone says they will pay that price I sell them the item. I know, I know... its crazy......

It would be pretty hard for me personally to not have a dog as a permanent condition, I'd tend to manipulate circumstances to make it work. But I'm more motivated to have a dog than stay out partying. I say that @BillyD, not as a criticism, you are probably way more fun than me.

Just last week, I added swimming to my training, which I really like but am very bad at. I am still adjusting to a slightly more aggressive position on the new bike, having some upper and lower back soreness (oddly skipping the middle part of my back, what's with that?). Hoping the swimming will build core + upper body strength, which will help on the bike. I realize it would be more efficient to just do a core workout instead of swimming, but I hate that stuff & won't actually do it. Versus swimming which I will actually do. I also do a very intense hour per week of core yoga, so it's not like I'm totally neglecting the core.
This am, I swam 1.47 mi in 1:03:17 according to my swim watch. (Yes, I am very slow but zen)
I can't run at all though.

And yes, you'll say they're releasing their inner troll. That's all a bunch of BS.
If you have an inner troll to release, you're probably a weirdo.

Sure. I don't move my arms continuously. In a very slight way. Say I'm breathing on my right, my left arm is extended forward. I take my breath and then bring the right arm forward. Then for a brief moment, I keep both the arms extended fully before sweeping my left arm back to take that stroke. I have no idea why I do this. Its not a dramatically pronounced thing, I think untrained eyes probably wouldn't notice it. But it is one thing that masters swim coach focused on right away. That's the only "problem" that I can explain that she found. I'm pretty sure there were other problems, but that's all I really understood.
Swimming does not cause me any pain anywhere. And I'm ok with swimming slowly. So I've never really been motivated to fix my stroke. I can swim a really long time, though, maybe because I have that little pause in my stroke, conserving energy?

Not to interrupt bike related comments, but I wanted to say thanks again for all the well wishes regarding my dog. I've had a couple dark days, but really feel the joy of being blessed by 14 years of her. Today, I smiled as much as sobbed. Thank you, random internet strangers/friends.

Lol, my yoga instructor is a plank nazi. I do private yoga- kind of like having a personal trainer but just for yoga. We have plank as a thing unto itself, and also what I think of as "tricky plank," where he tells me we're doing "x," but suddenly we're stopping in plank on the way. He pulls that one on me a lot.
Of course it's a process- the core is getting better but could always be better still.
