run over again...chance to upgrade rear/both wheels?

ello guys.

cars are drawn to me, magnetic or sexual attraction it must be. 2nd time hit in 4 months. is road cycling worth the risk? **** Yes!

this latest hit was not to bad...turning right on roundabout, driver fails to see me and clips my back wheel as im exiting roundabout. lucky to get away with only a buckled rear wheel.

its a cannondale supersix carbon. shimano r500 wheelset. what wheelset/rear wheel would you guys recommend as a decent upgrade/replacement? thinkin £200-300 max for rear wheel. thoughts plz!

cheers

2014 Fulcrum 5. The 2014 is 1650ish grams, bladed spokes, and 11 speed. They should be easily in that price range from Ribble, for both wheels.

thanks for your input m8. Been going over the online reviews and i've got a few wheelsets in mind. They are:

Campaganilo zonda. £273
Fulcrum race 3. £316
Shimano rs80's. £350+
Mavic ksyrium elite. £400+
Easton ea90. £340
Dt swiss r23. £345
Custom wheels?

Most prices are from wiggle site. Im favouring the zondas atm cos there cheapest. Look pretty sick as well.

Zonda's are nice, didn't think of them as I assumed you were Shimano based. Fulcrum 3 and Zonda are fairly equivalent, unless Fulcrum did something new on 3's in 2014. You know that Fulcrum's are a subset of Campy, right? Let's Campy sell wheels with Shimano freehubs without muddying the water.

I have mostly custom wheels, and pick custom when my budget is $550+ for wheel set. Below that, you probably get better bang for your buck on prebuilt.

I am a HUGE Fulcrum/Campy wheel guy. Can't go wrong with 2 way fit wheels from either. Both sets of racing 3's have been bombproof for two or three years now.

I have a set of Fulcrums (7) on the spare bike, they're pretty good. But, am a fan of Mavic wheels, and haven't heard anything but positive reviews of Ksyriums. If I was buying non-aero wheels, would probably go that way.

Cheers

Mavic ksyrium elite. £400+
