Garmin Edge 500 clicking sound
Does anyone notice their cadence sensor making a clicking sound as it passes the transmitter? I cant tell if it's that or a click in the BB. It does seem like it's the cadence unit making the noise.

Pretty sure it has a read switch in it. Opens and closes every time the magnet passes.

Yeah, I don't know if I can hear mine when I'm riding. At least not above the din of SRAM.

The reed switch in a sensor would not be audible while riding. Is it making physical contact?

If OP is hearing it in the stand, not on the road it could well be the sensor.

Had a similar sound recently. After replacing the bottom bracket it was still there. Turned out to be a loose right pedal but I didn't know that until I took it off and put it back on again. I took it off to check the lubrication. So, maybe take your left pedal off, grease the threads and put it back on.

Flex in the BB/cranks/seattube that only happens when weight/force is applied and then you rub the cadence sensor? On the stand there's not enough force to cause the flex?

My GSC-10 makes a very faint click when the wheel magnet passes. They all do. The simplest test is to turn the wheel by hand back and forth passed the magnet and you'll hear a click. Moving the wheel 2-3" forward and backward removes the drivetrain and freehub noise so you can really only hear the sensor.
Its worth checking to make sure its not hitting though.
