You get a lot of fashion for that money. Same reason folks buy Rolex.

The Pinarello Rokh I tested was at the pricey end of the scale compared with the other bikes I'm looking at. But it certainy wasn't double or triple the cost. And I didn't claim it was better than all the other bikes - the Domane was a bit smoother - and of course, that's just one element.
All I'm saying is it was a really nice ride. And the looks appeal to me, if not to everyone. I can understand why someone might choose this bike on the basis of sound consideration of all factors and good test-ride familiarity with numerous competitors. You certainly don't need to be a pretentious poser or a mindless "Kool aid drinker" to choose a Pinarello.
