I think Arantix introduced that the same year Calfee made their (one-off?) Spider bike, which I always liked.

Yeah didn't a company named "delta" or something like this come out with a similar frame maybe 6 or 7 years ago??
Can you imagine keeping that thing clean? Here are a number of folks here who won't take the 'nice bike' out in the rain - and those are conventional tubes!
I knew of those bikes, and was aware that the company was the vicinity of my home. But, I hadn't ever actually seen one. Last summer during a ride at a convenience store stop, a woman riding one of them rolled in with a small group. I began talking to her about her unusual bike, and it turned out that she is married to the guy behind the whole concept. She said that they would be coming back into limited production soon. She assured me that if I wanted one she could help make it happen. I chuckled. For me, the story is far more interesting than the bike. The guy behind it is a very inventive and creative engineer who came up with and developed the idea while in school at a local university. Kudos for thinking outside the box. But as most of us know, not every 'outside the box' idea is a good one.
Actually, thinking about it, there may have been some technology involved in working the carbon that was really at the heart of the investment. Who knows.
yeah, I'd say the carbon weave might be able to be used for something else in the future, but bikes, not so much.
