Shiner Gasp 100 2014
Anybody planning on this ride?

Spending a couple months in the sun and trying to get my old body ready for a sub seven! Actually - finishing will be an achievement for me. I might even spring for new bike this weekend - just for the ride.

I would love too as it's not too far from me (at least not in Texas miles ) but I doubt I'll be able to squeeze it in. Looks like fun though!

It's definitely a fun ride. If you have the fitness, go for it. Depending on the prevailing winds, the last stretch down to Shiner can be a bear because there are many hills and you can get a ferocious headwind. However, when you get to Shiner, all of that will be forgotten. Great ride. I've done it many times and I've enjoyed it every time, although to be honest I have not enjoyed every mile of the ride every time.
