What parts will fit my bike? What do I need to measure? Eighties Puch Odyssey
Hello,
I've got an eighties lug steel frame Puch Oddyssey and I'd like to update it to modern technology and have many questions;
How do I measure things to know they'll fit? I'm interested in Campagnolo Veloce parts but am unsure what to get? I know nothing at this point and assume there will be sizing issues. For example, will Veloce brakes work on this bike? There's a single hole to mount them front and rear and a center pull device on the one brake (front) the bike has.
Will I be able to convert this bike to a ten sprocket cassette? There's five now. What additional parts will I need?
Will I have to purchase all of these parts at once to make it work or can I buy things slowly? For example: Can I upgrade to brifters with the current setup and replace the other parts as I go?
The most pressing need is brakes, I only have a front brake currently and I thought I might as well upgrade to brifters and new cabling at the same time.
Also, I've seen these parts advertised by online sellers, such as Amazon. Are they legtimate? Seems like Campagnolo doesn't have online sales through any of my local retailers and the prices at the LBS and online are drastically different. Chain Reaction Cycles has these parts for far less than the LBS. Seems too good to be true, is it?
Thanks for all your help.

You may want to try asking in the Classic and Vintage forum. Many of the participates in that forum have done similar conversions and they can be very helpful.
Good luck.
Good luck.
