Anyone riding on RS81's?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Anyone riding on RS81's?

I have been looking for a set of 30-50mm deep wheels for my bike and I found wheelsets that fit my budget (sub $1,000) like American Classic, Rolf, Reynolds, Custom builds, etc... but really like the Shimano product so I'd like to keep it in the family. The RS81 C35 Clinchers seem to be a lot of bang for the buck but they're nowhere to be found? It seems every bike shop overseas has them and for around $600 per set but not here in the states. So the question is, anyone have them? Like them? Where did you buy them? They are about 110 grams heavier than the Dura Ace C35's with what appears to be the same rim profile for less than half the price. Here's a link https://roadcyclinguk.com/gear/shiman...irst-look.html

Maybe they're not available here just yet? I've seen plenty of Dura Ace C35's and RS21's but no 81's?

I got a set last December from probikekit. So far they have been great. I think most of the increased weight is in the hubs and the steel freehub body. They really feel lighter than they are. I had a set of 3t accelero 40s that were super flexy and felt heavy. The shimano wheels are the complete opposite.
They did need truing out of the box and the rear was kind of hard to get true with the 2/1 spoke lacing, however they haven't need any truing in the over 1000 miles after the first time.
I not a huge fan of the giant decals and they are under a clear coat and can't be removed.

I have the 9000 C35s. There's nothing special about them. They aren't light. They aren't aero. They don't feel light. They're 19mm wide.

Maybe a good thing is that the 14:7 rear spoke pattern and thicker spokes vs the c24 give it a stiffer feel.

I'm 20 off. My road bike has some new RS61s on it. Sadly, I've only ridden on them once so far, and only for about half a mile, but they seem pretty nice. I need to get out more...
