Just found out my current cleats fit the 7+ year old Look PP206 pedals (have shimano spd-sl cleats). there is a weird scrape/scratch behind the crank though. Any ideas how they could get there?

The mark is probably from dropped chains.

Rode it around today, feels really good. Dads insisting on painting it, unfortunately, looks like it might be turning red. Doing a charity ride soon so hopefully someone will complement it and change his mind.

Resist re-painting. If some one says something negative about riding a pink bike, just mention something about supporting Breast Cancer research.

I certainly do like the color. Hopefully I can persuade hm. If not maybe when he sees painting the bike, will be at least half of what we played he'll change his mind. But I am glad that he has a bike and is interested in cycling and rides with me.

That's great that you and your dad ride together! Try not to leave him in the dust the first couple of times might help your cause. If not you can always get your mom to work on him :-) If mama ain't happy nobody is happy!

Bikes not getting painted. It'll get some new bar tape, saddle and bottle cages though. Told him to buy me a kit with pink in it rather than paint it.

I am very glad the color is staying. Look at the eyelets on the wheels and check for cracking, and deflate the tires and look for cracking on the gum-walls as well.

Now ride, young one. Train hard.

I think that's a SR500 that has been upgraded to Dura-Ace. I owned an SR600 , but it was green, and had Suntour Sprint components. I paid a little extra to get the SR600 because the SR500 came with SIS shifters. I thought indexed shifting was a stupid fad.

The color is rad as-is. And think about it.. if you're racing it, it'll just get scratched up again anyway. Call it soul crushing pink instead of hot, and those scratches.... battle scars! Tell dad the fuddy duddy he's not riding so don't worry about it.

No, its definitely a sr600. the sr500 had shimano 105, this has 600. plus theres a sticker on the rear drop out saying shimano 600sis

Went for a ride today. about 11 miles. bike makes me feel like i rode all winter, definite improvement from my old schwinn. had a few shifting errors, mostly my fault, but it rode smooth and shifted good.
