In search of older Evo. Best way to find?

I'm looking for the 2012 White and black Evo. Obviously nearly 3 years old now, they are a bit more difficult to come by. I'm not keen on buying a used frame from a complete stranger. There are a lot of dishonest people out there who would sell something just to get it off their hands. Buying from Ebay at least has some type of protection. I'd like to buy locally so i can look the frameset over in person, but since I'm looking for a particular color and size, I may have to resort in looking out of state. Not saying I trust everyone on this forum, but I would trust certain members.

Does anyone happen to know of a teammate or friend who has one and may be selling? I will be selling my frameset to get this when I can find one.

What are some other options as to finding a frame that is no longer in production?

I need a 54. Looking specifically for a black and white.

You say you want to buy locally and that ebay sellers have a tendency to sell something just to get it off their hands, but then you ask an international forum, with no buyer protection, if anyone knows of someone selling this frame? logic ladies and gents

But I would start local like you said...put up a CL ad saying this is what I want and make multiple adds in different areas of Oregon that you are willing to drive to.

Also between ebay and paypal, you have LOTS of buyer protection. Ask the right questions before bidding/buying to protect yourself from fraudulent sellers and in the event that something does not line up with what the seller has said you can say "I asked and the seller lied/didnt tell the full truth/didnt disclose/etc.

No thats not what I said. [First sentence] I said, "that there are lots of dishonest people out there and I didn't want to buy from a complete stranger." [Second sentence] "At least Ebay has some type of protection." (Meaning if I did buy from Ebay, the chances of a complete stranger screwing me are less than some private sale)

I'm asking on this forum because I spend more time on this forum at times than I do with my wife. [Another separate Sentence] "Not saying I trust everyone on this forum, but I would trust certain members". I communicate with SEVERAL members from this forum outside of the forum and there are plenty of others that I feel i would be able to trust, but not all.

    But thanks captain sarcasm.

I have got the word out to a couple local friends who race. I'm hoping that they can keep an eye out as well.

I think your best bet is still ebay because it gives you buyer protection.

Someone on cl/referral from a friend probably will not be too keen on refunding the frame if you were to buy it and discover something. If I remember right, ebay gives you 45 days. You're local area is probably much different than mine though. At least you're not looking for a custom color

    One will show up eventually.

I'll ask my favorite LBS who is also a Cannondale dealer. They may know of something, but I doubt it, given what I assume is the relative popularity of that frame?
"I tried being reasonable, I didn‘t like it."

    "I understand. I just don't care"

Well that sucks! Dont know if it was a full bike or just frameset. Either way, wish I would have known. How much did you sell it for?

$1,800 for the frameset (non di2 model). I might be able to get my hands on a 54cm di2 version also if you are interested, but it's much more expensive.
