Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Dan, is your new Focus a manual or auto? I can find 6 speed manuals to test drive, but no five. I can order the 5 speed, but I am reluctant to without test driving.

Good luck, I am jealous, your trip looks great.

Looks to be a fun time, RollCNY. The elevation isn't horrible by the day, but on a single, it may be a bit pesky.

I just got the fusion hybrid-like it a lot. BTW- can you post an occasional snippet of video while tripping out there. Be nice to follow visually your trip. Us Indiana boys get a bit tired of the tapestry of corn and soybean that makes up our landscape.

I agree @RollCNY, you need to give your Addicts a little something each day. That's the way it works with Addicts.

Plus it is your responsibility to this thread. If you're doing an epic bike ride, you might as well take us along. We could all use a vicarious ride every now & then.

Hey Roll, I'm thinking about meeting up with you in Kingston, or at least in Rosendale; ride on into NP with you.

No. No. Digging ditches is fine and necessary work. I'm comparing the easiness of what I've been doing to the difficulty of digging ditches. But you probably already knew that.

It rains so much here that rain bike is just "the bike", then you have your sun bike.
