Looking for warmish non-neoprene bootie/shoe covers...
I'm all set with warm neoprene. My pair of less-warm covers are beat up, and now have holes by the toes.
They've been very good to me. I'd love to find another similar pair, but searching on Performance's site gives me nothing (these are 7-8 years old).
What's out there in the not-as-warm-as-neoprene category? Ideally sub $30 USD.

Defeet Slipstreams work for me and are inexpensive. I wear these until about the upper 30s any colder I need to use my neoprenes. They're pretty much just sturdy socks.

I have a pair of Sugoi Resistor shoe covers that I really like. They're thin stretchy windproof material that fit snugly and smoothly like aero shoe covers.

I just use older socks that are on their last legs....I mean, I'm going to end up tossing them in the near future, might as well put them all the way through their paces.

The coldest that I'll ride is 39F. When it's that cold, I put a small piece of tin foil under my footbed to stop air from coming in through this bottom of my shoe and slide on toe covers with regular socks. Unfortunately, it's only good for ~90min.
I decided to try oversocks (aka socks with a cutout for cleats) and learned that reviewers weren't fibbing when they said they don't keep your toes warm. I was hoping to get a little bit of warmth out of them when added to my existing shoe ritual, but no dice. I got what I paid for: not much.
Tail between my legs, I just splashed out on a set of zip-up overbooties. Their material is very similar to a wind vest; no neoprene here. I was hoping for a noticeable amount of relief from the cold, but felt they only made a marginal difference with my toe covers and tin foil underneath. End result: better than socky oversocks, but only barely.
Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions. FLVector, I had been looking at those, but the reviews say they run small, and I have 49s (14 US). I the the reviews are why they might be on clearance.
Johnny Rad, when it goes below 40*, the neoprene goes on. Right around 40 is where I like the ones I show above. Often, I'll slip sandwich bags over the toes of my shoes, before slipping on the covers. Works great. Not too hot/sweaty, not too cold. If it gets wet, this is a poor choice, though.

I wear a 45w (10.5 US) and got the XL based on the reviews. They fit well, but not sure they would fit a 49. They often put winter wear on clearance as we approach warm weather to get rid of last year's stock.

I have neoprene toe covers for cool (not cold) days. They keep the toes warm and cover the front of the shoe, letting the rest of your foot breathe and not overheat. Similar to these:

I too have been thinking about getting something for cool weather and ran across an article by Lennard Zinn where he recommends and uses these for cool dry riding. I haven't bought or used them yet but they are only $15 and Lennard has likely forgotten more about bike stuff than I'll ever know.

I have the same set of PI's, and they are amazingly warm with a pair of PI wool socks. I can't believe how war they keep your feet, and literally they cut the draft out of your feet 100%
