Which K-Edge Chain Catcher?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Which K-Edge Chain Catcher?

I have a 2012 Cannondale Synapse with SRAM Apex front derailleur. Double Chain Ring is on the bike.

It doesn't happened very often but would like to prevent the chain from dropping off the small chain ring when I'm riding. If K-Edge doesn't make one compatible with my bike, can someone make a suggestion?

Cheers,

All you need to know is whether you have a braze on or clamp style front derailleur to order the right K-edge.
I personally wouldn't ride without one and highly recommend their product.

After doing a little more research, I found out that SRAM has its own version called "Chain Spotter". Any care to comment which is best between the SRAM or K-Edge?

These are simple devices. I have a knock off braze on K-edge on a carbon bike and a knock off clamp on Dog Fang on an aluminum bike and both have worked perfectly. Zero chain drops. I don't think you can go wrong as long as you install them correctly.

Why does the chain drop on SRAM FD? This is like the 20th thread I've read about it. I've never had a chain drop from normal use on Shimano other than when I crash MTB...

I think chain catchers are like umbrellas are for keeping it from raining. It doesn't just prevent the dropped chain from falling onto the BB and put it back in place, but as soon as you have one on the bike, the chain stops trying to fall off. At least in my case. LOL

Yes, but you can't personally say that you ever had an SRAM chain drop either. Consider the source!

I kept seeing varying reports as to whether the K-edge clamp version would work on a 2013 SuperSix and ended up deciding to try the Speed Park knock off of the K-edge. Seems to work well and was only $20CDN with free shipping from ebay.

Here is the link:
New Speedpark 34 9mm CNC Chain Catcher Clamp for Road MTB Black | eBay

Looks like there are several others, for braze on, or clamp around that price or lower.

Just keep it in 53/11 and the chain catcher doodad becomes irrelevant.

Any chain catcher for a S-Works Tarmac with Dura Ace Di2? The one that comes with the build kit does not fit
