I'm sure each and every one of you suggested someone buy the brown and white Molteni jersey back in 1970 and have been largely upset that anyone could move on from there. Unfortunately for the easily bothered, new gear comes out at least once a year from every major company, so the jerseys that have been suggested in the past to my question are now suitable for cleaning my shoes (except maybe the Rapha ones[got ya]). If an every changing world is what makes you upset, then probably best to get off the forums where most of us come for up-to-date, level-headed information about current topics. If I just went out and bought a jersey that costs more than 15 bucks off nashbar you people would be just as quick to make a comment about being spoiled or quick to waste money, but instead I tried to reach out to others to see if they knew of a superior product that would be cost worthy. Now, I see some stupid, and I mean STUPID, stuff on the forums everyday and somehow I manage to avoid clicking on topics that I find useless. I know it is harder for some than it has been for myself, but come on. If you don't like it then just don't comment on it.

You seem upset. Are you upset?

Also I try and remember that we all here love cycling and if we stumbled upon each other at work or a party, would have a great time sharing our enthusiasm of this great activity. It lessons the venom.

+1. There will always be someone who will honestly answer the question though. I am ok with new people posting the same Q over and over since I was there at a point in time but now it is just fun hanging out here. Barely come for cycling advise anymore but rather personal advise. Weird I know... these guys have become some kind of weird family that I've never met :p

Nah, great person. Rode with him today and it was a great friendly and conversational ride. Good to put a face to a username and a personality as well. Very kind and hospitable. We all have our little sarcastic and nonchalant attitudes once we get comfy in our environment but, com'on, we need to give this place a twist every now and then.

I'll just say this, roadies are made fun of by every other single subforum in BF... We know it's all envy :D

There are only 2 you should consider and it depends on the situation.

situation: standing around, choose the jersey that makes you look slim.
situation: riding around, choose the jersey that makes you look fast

Really???? Why????

Sorry but that just sounds ... odd.

It's all new to you now, but you'll understand when you've been here a while.

Sometimes I still don't understand. I think I'm better for it.

OP...I completely understand where you're coming from. Forget all the "wait until you have been here a while" lines. There is probably no topic that has not been covered at some point on this forum. It's the same logic with any topic on any forum, if one doesn't like it, one can easily not click on it. Very simple.

You can find nice jersey's on the web for sale every day. eBAY even has some nice deals if you look. Nashbar always run sales. I also like Voler, and Pactimo.
Have a look at those when you get time.

I prefer my free Nissan jersey from Pearl Izumi to the free Cadillac one. The Nissan is light colored and has a zipper that opens at the bottom (and the test drive in the Leaf was more interesting than the one in the CTS). But both jerseys are excellent values for their cost.

The only advice I will offer is to make sure you get a full zip jersey.
Nice to be able to open it all the way when it gets real hot, plus convenience factor when wearing bibs.

Are you talking about the Amgen one? Nicest free jersey I ever got and I even lied about test driving a nissan =). I do wish it was a bit stretchier though

I have had good luck with CRAFT jerseys. We get 110+ here but not that much humidity.

The dealership i went to for the caddy didn't know about the deal with it but signed my sheet anyway, but no test drive. I wasn't too concerned about it anyway haha.

I really like my black one. it is a bit thicker than most of my jerseys so on slightly cooler days it is nice. it is one of my tighter fitting jerseys too. They had a white version the 2nd year but i didn't know about that one. or nissan.. boooo

dwatson 05-04-14 05:34 PM

I like the Voler jerseys. I get them from the Partner section for about $69 and they ship free. I have a few of the Performance Ultra for hot weather.

MagicHour 05-04-14 07:03 PM

I have a Kucharik Merino L/S from 2003 that is still going strong. It's simple and kinda plain but my favorite Staple for cold weather cycling. I mended a small hole this season where one of the pockets sewn on was loaded down and started to wear, and is good as new.

Buy them out. For $7 it's fine for most uses. Visible, comfortable, no indication of any "seconds" problems, pocket is good, etc.

Aaa and I'll take a few of those!

High end being Giordanna & Castelli Rosso Corsa vs. OK being Specialized brand to generic brands. Best bibs are the specialized branded bibs. Favorite shirts are two le cock sportif yellow jersey and KOM jersey. Those are $80 bucks each and the bib was $60 I think. Better quality and more comfortable than my $350 speed suit which has holes and is becoming undone.

Hey...get back on ducati.ms where you belong. :)

bruce19 05-17-14 06:50 PM

My favorite jerseys are an Assos and a Capo. I usually buy stuff on sale and I am really happy with those two purchases.

kelsodeez 05-17-14 06:52 PM

the clearance rack at your LBS is your best bet. 90% of my cycling wardrobe were closeouts. my most recent score was a pearl izumi jersey for $35.

longbeachgary 05-17-14 06:52 PM

QUOTE Washing a kit only takes a few minutes, I know a few rider who buy the best and wash there kit after every ride. What you are describing might be pricey but not high end. Try some Rapha or Assos if you want high end. QUOTE

I have this crazy notion that washing a jersey takes more out of it than wearing it. I have 12 jerseys (same jersey in a couple of different colors) and alternate them. Sixty dollar jerseys bought at half price. Do they really last longer when they are alternated? I have no clue.

Everything last only X amount uses. When alternating they get less uses over a period of time, so they last longer but still the same amount of uses.
