Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

PBK Sent Me an Empty Box

In fairness, the box may have opened during shipping as there was a lot of tape on the bottom but it was nonetheless empty (except for the packing material and ads). It was an excessively large box for a bike chain and cheap cardboard as well. This is the second time in the past year I've had something like this happen. They really need to learn how to pack stuff.

When I picked up the box I thought it felt empty but part of me was thinking the DA chain might be pretty light. Who knows, maybe it's still in there.

I've never had a problem with dozens of orders over the years. I'm sure they will make it right if you contact them.

Maybe you're supposed to visualize a chain. The perfect chain. Let the chain be unbroken.

Have fun now persuading them that you're not trying to scam them out of a new chain.

Customs could also have opened it for examination. A chain showing up in an x-ray probably got some attention. The chain might have fallen out repacking. Or an inspector has a new Dura Ace chain for his bike

Yeah, that's the annoying thing. How do I prove it? Although, if I wanted to scam something I think I could do better than a $30 chain.

Can't you just send them a picture of the empty box for proof?

SNL reference I presume? Timberlake is our favorite to host. Absolutely hilarious when he and Sandberg got together on SNL.

So I heard back from PBK. I need to submit some claim form but sounds like they will replace the lost part. Of course, the form asks me to check with members of my household to make sure it wasn't received. There doesn't seem to be a form for receiving a box that is empty.
