Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Thoughts on this bike [Prorace Electra]

So a friend recently sent me this link Prorace Electra Road Bike | Merlin Cycles

I've had a look over it and it looks like a good deal. Does anyone have any experience with this bike or similar?

Look's nice, is it the "house" brand?

It doesn't look like the house brand as I see a few other companies stocking the bike. I couldn't believe the price when I saw the full 105 group and internal cable routing.

ProRace was born in the first year of the new millenium. It's parent is Feryn New International, the leading distributor of cycling products in Belgium and The Netherlands. Feryn's portfolio includes top brands such as Assos, Giordana, Carrera and many others. The company continues to market these products, but has created the ProRace brand to reach a different part of the market. We recognized that next to the top brands, there is demand in the market for quality products at affordable prices. The ProRace brandname stands for a complete range of products. Frames, clothes, accessories, you name it. We made the ProRace products suited for mass-marketing, without compromising on the quality.

I'm not a fan of the paint, but I don't see anything wrong with it at that price.
