Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

If you were coming up from behind passing them you could see it.

I have this same bike and love it, although I'm too old and slow to race.

I thought you painted this orange?

I was racing the Rabobank Giant until I crashed it and it cost me tons to fix. Now I race the Roubaix which is my work horse.

Surely the point of such a bike is "as you look up after they pass you, you could see it."

The Giant I bought it at the beginning of this year and crashed it on my 4th race. Broke a wheel and decided it was too expensive to go through with a repair again. The Roubaix I've had it for about 2 years now and by no means a cheap bike but at least the chinese carbon wheels are easier to replace than the SES.

Minimal AF. Barely any logos on the bike, it's quite nice.

I've never seen that before, and I've seen quite a few Specialized, seem to be popular here. Which Specialized frame is that?

Not a whole lot different between them. Explains the squashed head tube look that i normally associate with the amira though.

never seen a 49cm tarmac to compare

Took some new pics. Final weight is 7.97kg. 3t post has a bit more setback than I actually need-I'm able to get my position but the saddle is mounted pretty far forward. I will probably switch to a Thomson elite 15mm setback post for a more pleasing aesthetic. Thinking about rewrapping the bars in some microtex dual black/red tape on....thoughts?

As you mentioned, I dont like the setback post you have. Dont like that saddle either, but the rest of the bike looks good. I'd give it a Hot. As long as you DONT do red and black bartape. Keep it black.

My 2007 Bianchi Virata after being mended. Only thing I would like to change is the veloce levers with chorus to match the derailleurs, but I think I like the shiny silver accents on the bike.

While we're on a Specialized theme here's my S-Works Tarmac SL4. Not a very good pic, a bit dark inside my office, pic taken with my phone.

Specs are Dura Ace C24 wheels, GP4000S tyres, Ult Di2 11 spd, Deda handlebars and stem, Fizik Arione CX saddle, Thomson seatpost

Geez, these pics just aren't giving the bikes a chance...

The Allez looks better than the Tarmac.
