Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My only personal choice would be to change out the seat post. Only because that seatpost has never been pleasing to me aesthetically.

Staging is all wrong. Dog and flag should be centered and lined up. Dog should also have tongue hanging out on the drive side of the trailer. And risers get rid if those risers and slam that thing.

Well, it came out a little more "electric blue" than powder blue:

Well done! I'd vote it a hot. Although I'm more impressed by the rest of the bike than I am with the blue custom paint... It's ... nice? But if I were custom painting it, that's probably not the color I would have selected. But a hot bike nonetheless!

Edit P.S. - Do you have a red bike to match the twin Lambo in the background?

I like it a lot. I think some black details on the front and back dropouts would have made it even better.

Have you though about Fizik Soft Touch tape, to match the saddle?

I pined over some stripes on the drop-out areas and decided that "less is more", didn't want to complicate it.

Nah, I like the Pro tape, lasts a long time. Still not certain I'm keeping that saddle, may try a Selle SMP.

Good bike, LOVE the color, Good set up. Even though I sometimes agree that less is more, I feel like it is too simple. Thats just MY personal thought. I think what separates a nice custom designed frame and just custom paint is the design itself. without seeing this in person, this could pass for a rattle can paint job with some vinyl stickers thrown on. As mentioned above, you could still easily throw some small lines on the fork/seat stays or possibly paint the inside of the fork. Its lovely as is, but could use something more if it were my own.

I agree with you. The bike was in a for a chain stay repair so I went ahead and did the simple paint you see here, rather than match two shades of blue and still ride a rolling billboard. If I didn't race this bike and didn't have to worry about breakage I would have done more, but I've broken three road bikes in two years. One was a hit from a car, another from the RD going through the stays/wheel, and then this broken chain-stay.

To be honest, i miss the red accents... they matched your hubs and seemed to bring a bit more contrast to the bike.

You did a great job though. bravo.
