Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

When you say you waved at another cyclist, could you be more specific? Do you mean another cyclist besides yourself or another cyclist besides the one you waved last last week? Do you have a waving problem?

SL Comp seems like a funny name for gloves. Sounds like they're trying too hard. They're GLOVES for goodness sake!

I waved at a female the other day and she did not wave back. I'm not sure if it was because she didn't see said wave or if she has me on ignore. I wish I knew because I have an interest in her.

I was mowing grass, not cycling. I did not have any gloves on.

When you say "mowing the grass", do you actually mean mowing the grass?

No, she was inside the building, which made it more difficult for me to see.

Perhaps if I had been wearing high-visibility gloves it would have attracted more attention.

High-visibility gloves--there's a good idea.

You don't wear gloves when you mow grass? I've worn leather work gloves for decades when I do yard work, trimming hedges, etc. A proper pair of work gloves is a necessity for most jobs, from changing oil to planting a tree to handling pressure treated wood...

Yes, that is their major flaw and I was remiss in not pointing it out. Truly excellent point. This is the kind of thoughtful, hard-hitting, in depth analysis that makes this place such a bastion of intellect.

Why?

I'm not too worried about getting grassrash on my hands if I slip and fall.

That's right. I need some vestige of manliness. I can't say I get much from cycling.

I didn't wave back because I was embarrassed about my Mavic gloves, which started falling apart right as soon as I bought them. They feel comfortable, but don't last.
