Wish I could make that "SPECIALIZED" down tube decal less prominent!

Oh, I have no interest in sanding and stripping the frame. I'll call the tint shop first and then the sign shop. If they cannot help with something easy and eventually reversible, I'll leave it alone.

This applies to many things btw. Best case is...simply don't buy a bike that you don't like the look of. Looks matter to the vast majority. If aesthetics really matter to you OP, don't waste your time by modifying it...strip the components off the frame and ebay it and buy a frame that looks better.
Or, view it as a learning exercise about yourself. As to philosophy...a simple tenant and what I like best that applies to things that bug perhaps me but not others. It isn't the object of disdain but rather your perception that is wrong OP:
If you change the way you look at things, the things around you will change.

Casually Deliberate
That's cuz your Trek is too fancy and new. Mine has a pretty blue "Trek" on the downtube that coordinates with the fade elsewhere on the bike and a silver "T" for the headbadge and that's it.

Not sure why it bothers me but that HUGE white downtube "SPECIALIZED" decal just does. So I thought of getting darker decals from Specialized- no dice. Then I considered airbrushing it dark grey but $200 is the cost! I can't cut my own decals so that is out. Any other ideas? I can live with it but would love to cover it or stealth it up nicely (as in not using a rectangular black vinyl sheet to cover it).
Bike below is NOT mine (same model and color) but I have changed the white seat and bar tape to black already.

The S-Works (at least the newer ones) seems to be much more muted. I'd be fine with that.

I may have my solution. I called the local tint shop that does good work. Turns out he helps a lot of local cyclists with this same issue except many simply want more protection on the downtube. So he suggested a 3M Clearbra material that is heavily tinted so it will essentially grey out the white decal. The other option is vinyl graphics but I prefer the Clearbra idea. Both can be removed later if needed. Will take the bike in this week and take some before and after pictures.

Which shop did you decide to go with? I am heavy into the automotive scene here in Denver and we have a lot of shops that do both tint/Vinyl. If you decided to go with a vinyl wrap let me know and I can point you in the direction of some amazing shops that can wrap your bike in a custom color and have custom decal overlays made should you want something like that. Im in Lakewood myself.

06SpiceRed: I called Direct Tint in Golden. I live in west Littleton off 470 and Ken Caryl Valley. I'd love to chat with a shop that can do a vinyl overlay...maybe even go there and see what they recommend based on my frame. Please PM/message me or let me know if you prefer I call you. Your help is much appreciated.

Part of the reason of why I bought my spesh bike is because "SPECIALIZED" looked better than all the other options...
Buy these frames, they are not bad of a deal:
New Unbranded Motobecane Carbon Road Bike Bicycle Frame Set Fork | eBay
Or get a s-works. Guess those looks better.

Plasti-dip. Comes in different colors and it can be removed very easily.
