Comparo between two GT road bikes: Series 2 vs Attack 1.0

I have narrowed my search down to a couple GT bikes that appear to be very similar in specs, the series 2 and the "attack" 1.0, but the attack is no where to be found on their website and appears to be a bike sold exclusively at performance bike. i know some TV manufacterers will do this with some models sold at best buy, wal-mart, etc, that have slightly different model numbers, but is nuts and bolts the same TV. also if anybody has ridden either of these bikes, feedback would be appreciated.
    cheers

performance does have "performance exclusive" bikes. this one may be that. looking at both they are pretty much the same bike minus the color. Either way you'll be fine. Have you been to performance to check them out?

i have not, the nearest performance bike is 1.5 hrs away. also it seems like it may be a gamble going to the local store that may or may not have them in stock. but i suspected its the same bike, but with a different name like you mentioned.

I'm going to guess that they're different frames. The Attack looks like it uses the series 3,4,5 frame with external cable routing. The series 2 frame uses internal routing. GT claimed that the frame material was better on their series 1 and 2 frames--little lighter.

Different forks, too. The Attack has an alloy steerer. The 2 is all carbon.

Also, the 2 may have a slightly more aggressive geometry than the Attack. That was another difference between the 3-5 frames, and the 1-2, when I had a GT and was familiar with the model line.

Same price ($30 difference is the same price for all intents and purposes), go with the 2. But make sure the fit is right.
