Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Performance bike.com help!!

I'm looking at a Ridley Fenix CR2 105 Road Bike from performance bikes.com. Why is this bike only sold at performance bikes? It's got great parts. But they don't sell this on the Ridley site

Performance sometimes has "exclusives" which are just a bit different from "normal" models. Might be the case here.

No idea, but if it's on sale (never pay full price at performance) and you are a member it could be. Members get 10% back in credit and sometimes 20% which can be used for clothes or whatever. Wait for a good deal.

Sometimes Performance sells models that have either been discontinued, or models that have undergone some component changes, different from the parent company's website.

Performance sells a crapload of bikes, so the can get manufacturers to spec a bike for them. That's why Ridley doesn't have this model in their website.

yes, it is a good bike. when you look at their site the bikes all the guys are talking about will be clearly marked "performance exclusive".

if you have a performance bike near you, go check them out.

Performance didn't have it in stock, or isn't there a performance nearby?

If there is a Performance nearby, just have them order it from their warehouse for you to try. I'm surprised the manager didn't offer to do this for you.

I have heard people bash Performance because they are the big box store of bicycles. I am sure they are not perfect, but a friend rode a bike a year before deciding he wanted something different. Performance gave him every dime he had spent on it back on a different bike. Customer service like that is hard to beat! Throw in all the other perks they have especially if you join their club and its not hard to see why they are so big.
