what do you guys think of this idea...?

Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I am a big opponent of leaf blowers. On my commutes into town I run thru 2 or 3 dust clouds or whatever nasty stuff they are blowing into the air happens to be on the ground.

I am very tired of seeing them blow stuff into the road and letting traffic disperse the crap.

My plan is to carry an air horn in my bottle cage and ride up close to them from behind and blow it in their ears to get there attention.

thoughts?

Stupid idea. Don't be "that guy". FYI, it's their attention, not there attention.

Leaf blowers and weed wackers in my area usually are observant and stop or turn and block their task as I approach.

So do not bee that guy. If it is the city workers then maybe call them and mention it. Also it may be some bylaw infraction. I know one city it was technically illegal to rake leaves to the curb, people still did it.

Every time you think about doing that put the end of the horn up to your ear and let it rip. That should cure you, or maybe not.

If not please carry video with you in hopes that one of them catches you and gives you a rectumectomy with that horn.

Complain to city council, get enough people to go along with you, and get an ordinance passed.

Yeah, let's deafen the poor guy that's just doing his job. He deserves that.

Why not try just holding your breath until you get to the other side of the "cloud"? With your awesome speed, that shouldn't be too difficult. Jeebus, people are whiners.

You should blow an airhorn at yourself every time you post.

I'm going to give OP the benefit of the doubt and suggest that he's just venting and wouldn't actually be that much of a giant arsehole.

How big an air horn do you need to heard over a leaf blower? At least in my area, the guys with the leaf blowers have ear plugs or mufflers, an air horn is going to be nothing against a standard gas blower.

This is akin to the brilliant ideas I come up with to attract female attention.

Still single.

Okay enough. I think it's been expressed the opinion of this idea. Thank you for playing. Oh and by the way.. those who have done it, please don't go around the censor. It's against forum guidelines.
