SE bikes - Royale 14 thoughts?

Hello everyone

i am a new user to the forum, i just signed up but anytime i want to look up something about a bike i always follow you here.

I am not really into biking , until now i rode a cruiser bike but i am thinking about buying a road bike to exercise.
I went to my LBS , there are a bunch of nice dudes there that always helped me with my cruiser so i wouldn't mind throwing some extra money and support them also because i am not really good in diy assembly/repair :p

I asked them about a basic road bike, budget 500/600$. To be honest they looked like not really into road bike, i asked them a couple of questions and all i got were generic answers but anyway...they showed to me this bike

As i said i am not really knowledgeable about specs like most of you so my question is , for $550 , do you think is worth it?
Any alternative that you can recommend?

Thank you

I think I would rather get something from bikedirect with a carbon fork and better components for $550

Honestly I think even some of the cheaper ones would work for you

But I didn't read the part about not wanting DIY. These bikes will all require some assembly. Not rocket science but will probably take about 2 hours and the ability to watch youtube videos and follow instructions or pay the shop which will likely cost another $100.

The SE isn't bad but I especially worry about comfort of the alum. fork over the long haul. I would look at used bikes too if I was you

I don't know alot, but I can afford most of the bikes on this site, what would y'all recommend?

I wouldn't reccomend bikesdirect.com from what you've described. It won't include the shop's service, and that's not just mechanical. They'll fit you on the bike, give you a professional tune-up (makes a bigger difference than Dura-Ace), and probably a discount on accessories.

A major problem with inexperienced people assembling a bike is not catching on to things that are wrong from fresh-out of the box. And do you have all the necessary tools? It's more than a screwdriver and hex wrenches.

Ton of bang for the buck. I'm assuming by your handle you're female.
