    Huffy beater project

So I picked up a huffy road bike, I know what your going to say, but it was $30 and in great mechanical shape. It is my first road bike (I been mountain biking) and wanted a bike I can play with and work on my wrenching skills. So step one was disassemble, then primer, and paint. Next will be re greasing all the bearings and assembly. I am going with a flat black and green theme.

Here is the bike as I got

    Disassembled and primed

    And now painted

Not bad for $30. New chain and cables might be next. You can get a nice set of jagwires for $50

For $30, I thought the blue with yellow cables looked pretty good, but projects are fun.

I recommend one of these :

People can't tell it isn't a high tech road bike frame!

They probably wouldn't believe you if you told them it was a $30 Huffy!

Good luck with your project and do keep us up dated on here.
