Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

If your bike were a car, which car would it be?

So, which car do you imagine your bike resembles or reminds you of? Why so?

I imagine my Breezer Venturi would be a Morgan AeroMax! It's a rare original, authentically classic, yet just as much modern; sporty, but with an elegance that stands out from the crowd.

What about yours? Lets see some pix!

I'm with 2702 -- my Lexa S is a Mazda 3... except the Mazda has a better engine!

Nice thread!!

I picture my CAAD10 as a stock Mustang GT... because it's a nice platform to modify and upgrade components.

Nice! I was wondering which way the CAADs would go; hadn't thought customized American muscle, but I like it!

Let me see, my Focus Izalco is German so I would call it a Porsche 911. Too bad it is powered by a worn out VW Beetle engine...

I call my bike the Magic Bike, so therefore if it were a car, it would be Chitty Chitty Bang Bang aka the Magic Car.

The bike is a BMC GF01.

I was thinking my 10-5 was more like an Audi A3. Similar to 2702; a sporty, but inexpensive, ride. But I would definitely agree that it's a frame that I can throw some upgraded components on.

My Bianchi Brava is probably like a 4-door Fiat, maybe a Siena.

Well, I do have a race bike...

My Evo would be a Porsche 911 with the engine of 1972 VW Bug (having owned one I know precisely how much power it didn't have).

I'd think the Dream Lux has a little more GT5 in it, but I dig where you're going!

In all fairness these bikes are racing bikes. You could probably compare the focus to a hybrid like the Sirrus or the Escape. If you go to the MTB you'd receive all AWD jeep like vehicles, and CX would be rally cars.

I know a lot of people with nice Ferraris, Lambos etc. and they could probably get smoked by somebody else on a mazda miata. All I know is that, given the same rider and on asphalt, a road bike would be faster than a MTB.

I've always thought the Ford Focus, in the two-door variant, and especially the SVT, was a pretty hot hatchback! Definitely sporty in my book!

The bike is like the frame of a car, the rider is like the engine. We a new thread where we compare our bikes to car bodies and our engines to hamsters in wheels.
