It ain't that hard. Just be thoughtful. ALL the time. Not just when you eff up. It isn't about the roses, or the gifts. It is the thought behind it. If you buy the last minute flowers on your way home, forget it. If you set up a picnic with her favorite type of cheese (that was mentioned once or twice a few months ago) you are golden

I was wondering about that! Ms. rpenmanparker has always gone along with any bike expenditures I chose to make (up to and including having four bikes at time) as they freed her up to get even. Her main concern has always been storage space not the money.

On the other end of the spectrum my wife was busting my balls over a $12.50 expenditure for new spokes to fix my wheel. Even though I make 3 times the money and pay all the bills leaving her with all the disposable income...

There is a book called The Five Languages of Love or something like that, and it is actually interesting to read about how people send and receive love differently. My wife values "service", which means me taking her Honda to the garage and getting it fixed without interrupting her day is far more important than sending flowers. I don't value service, so I would view her trying to do that for me as an annoyance. You have to figure out how to send love in the manner your partner best receives.

what pisses me off about this crash is what the hell was the plane flying for when the country had been on typhoon shut down? i smell the usual corporate profit before safety crap. i have actually flown that particular flight and it is a small prop plane and gets thrown around in normal situations let alone a frigin typhoon.

Well ya gotta think about it like a non-cyclist I suppose. I finally came to the same conclusion and sold the Ritchey Breakaway when I decided I really didn't like dragging the bike around airports and fooling around with it on trips. Just too much distraction from the actual purpose of the travel. Just my opinion. YMMV.
