    Litespeed L1R Info

I am thinking of building up a Litespeed L1R.

Anyone riding one that can provide some feedback?

I have one, it's a great frame, the fork is a bit overbuilt and heavy at 400grams, this is the only drawback. You can't change it out as there are no alternatives due the size of the head tube and matching fork crown required.

The bb386 evo is extremely stiff as is the oversized head tube and steerer, so it's great when accelerating.
The choice of cranksets is a bit limited if you want to stick to the bb386 evo spec, I went with a FSA Ceramic bb and the FSA K-Force Light bb386evo crankset to take full advantage of the bb sitffness. You can use adaptors for different crankset diameters, but you still have to be careful on the crankset axle length.

It's definitely a stiff frame design to get the most out of every pedal stroke.
I got mine for 1200 usd on close out, not sure whether I would pay 3,500 full retail for the frame.

This gives a bit of an overview of the features

How is the overall ride? Is it harsh? Do you recall the actual frame weight?

The ride is stiff in the front triangle, there is a little bit of vertical compliance in the rear, but it's really designed maxmise the stiffness, everything is over sized.
i wouldn't say the ride is not any harsher than another carbon frame, but that all depends on the saddle, seatpost, bars and stem your using.

my medium frame (54cm toptube) weighs 950 grams, the bike in the picture weighs 13lbs, but that is mainly due to the wheelset as opposed to the frame.

How do you like the FSA Cranks? Do you have an image of them from the top or bottom? I would like to see the arm angles.

Any Green loctite when you pressed in the BB cups or did you press them dry?

I always use loctite 641 and the loctite primer to improve adhesion

The FSA cranks are great, quite stiff for carbon cranks, no real problems, they are really the only option to take fully advantage of the bb386evo.
